「昆蟲」為這次字型設計的主題，整體字型參考Bodoni來作為骨架範本，並觀察昆蟲的身體構造與特徵，將字母的結構依照Stem/Spine、Crossbar/Arm/Tail/Leg/Bar/Tail等延伸出昆蟲身體和腳，而Serif則是觸角。為了加強字型易讀性和可視性，將部分的襯線去除，讓字母不會因過多的裝飾而影響閱讀，成了一種介於襯線字和非襯線字之間的字型，並以法國昆蟲學家Fabre（法布爾）來命名字型。
"Insects" is the theme of this typeface design. I used Bodoni as the template and observed the structure and characteristics of insects. The stem/spine of the typeface as body, crossbar/arm/tail/leg/bar/tail as feet, and serif as antennae. In order to enhance the legibility and visibility of the typeface, I removed some of the serifs so the font is between serifs and sans serifs. I named this typeface "Fabre" who is a famous entomologist from France.
